Dominion is power or use of power, sovereignty over something, stewardship, supremacy.
God has dominion:
How great [are] his signs! and how mighty [are] his wonders! his kingdom [is] an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion [is] from generation to generation.
Thy kingdom [is] an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion [endureth] throughout all generations.
Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
To the only wise God our Savior, [be] glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen..
God has given you dominion.
Every one of us is called to have influence/ domination/ authority/supremacy.
Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all [things] under his feet:
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
You are the only creation that God gave dominion: He allowed the creatures to be fruitful and reproduce but for you he allowed these and commanded you to subdue and dominate.
Many of us have things having dominion over us.
Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous [sins]; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.
This why God dealt with sin once and for all: Hebrews 10:10
And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. So, we are restored to the place of full control.
a) God has made you have dominion over all the works of his hands.
b) You were never meant to have dominion over other men.
c) Together you and other men would have dominion.
d) You have dominion over work or what can be worked.
Authority: Authority is the power to enforce rules and orders.
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
and He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man.
I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
e) Your goal in any area and any door the lord opens is to be fruitful, to multiply, to fill it up and to conquer it.
f) You were never meant to work anything just so that you eat of it. That’s why God took care of that in Genesis 1:29.
g) You were meant to work to influence and dominate. Work satisfaction.
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
How do you express God’s glory?
By having dominion and exercising authority.
By doing what you were created to do
1) Being fruitful: Productive, producing good and helpful results.
2) Multiplying: Increase or cause to increase greatly in number and quantity.
3) Replenishing the earth: Fill up again
4) Subduing the earth: conquer, defeat, bring under control.
The areas of influence of the world. Include belief systems/ religious, family, media, governments/ political, education/ Science and Technology, economy (commerce, finance, business), arts (Culture, entertainment, celebration).
You are meant to work for influence/ dominion/authority.
The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him.
“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. 26 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. 27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. 28 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’[a] As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’[b]
so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.”[a] Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
What does light do when it gets into a place? It takes over it is productive, it multiplies, it fills up and it takes over.
Earth are the creatures, structures - Dominion
World are the systems/ the order - Authority
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.
Identify your area of influence? Decide that you will, Be fruitful, you will multiply, you will replenish and you will subdue
Now get to work.
